Remittance

Fast, reliable and less hassle are keys to convenient remittance processing. SMBC Wholesale Banking is a direct member of local clearing-house and SWIFT member with a reliable network of correspondent banks that are able to support our clients’ domestic and international transactions.

Additionally, we support our clients to achieve convenience by combining our Internet Banking capabilities and Straight Through Processing (STP) method which enables seamless payment execution without manual interference.

 

Internal Transfer

Incoming or outgoing fund transfer in domestic or foreign currencies within the same bank. You may also use this service to do foreign exchange between your accounts in different currencies.

 

Domestic (Rupiah Currency) Remittance

Fund transfer service in Rupiah currency across domestic banks. Real-Time Gross Settlement (RTGS) for high-value fund and immediate real-time clearing. Sistem Kliring Nasional (SKN) for low-value fund and voluminous payments (e.g. vendor payments, staff payroll).

 

Foreign Remittance

Fund transfer service in foreign currencies to domestic and overseas banks. At SMBC Wholesale Banking, we are able to support 11 (eleven) foreign currencies for remittance: USD, JPY, AUD, SGD, EUR, GBP, HKD, CHF, THB, CNY, and INR.

Both domestic and foreign remittances have potential risks, such as:

 

  1. Risks of transaction delay or failure, customer fail to provide accurate information related to its payment instruction(s), fail to approve within transaction cut off time, non-adherence in a submission of required documents, system troubleshoot at customer’s/bank’s/regulator’s side which resulted in transaction delay or failure.
  2. Risks of force-closed and legal fines or penalties, risks that are usually caused by customer’s failure to comply with local or international regulation related to funding transfer transactions (i.e. money laundering).

You may perform both domestic and foreign remittances in 2 (two) ways:

 

  1. Manual payment instruction, this method requires you to fill-up, sign and submit Fund Transfer Application form(s).
  2. Online payment instruction, this method is an online method using our secured Internet Banking platform.
